Yanks lose 4-5 to the Jays extending the losing-streak : Read the Highlights Here
The Yankees' losing streak continues at three games, as they were defeated 4 to 5 by the Blue Jays.
On Tuesday, Carlos Rodón pitched for the Yankees, and unfortunately, it was his worst start this year. During his 4.0 innings on the mound, he allowed five hits, four walks, and three earned runs. Rodón was relieved by Luke Weaver, who pitched for 1.1 innings and allowed two hits and two earned runs. It was apparent that the Yankee pitching staff's game was not at its sharpest, as the Blue Jays combined for eight hits and seven walks on Tuesday night.
The Yankees struggled offensively and defensively in their loss to the Blue Jays, only managing to get six hits and two walks while being struck out ten times! The team's only offensive highlights came from Jose Trevino, who went 1 for 4 with 3 RBIs, and Oswaldo Cabrera, who went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Unfortunately, the big hitters had a rough night, with Anthony Volpe going 0 for 4 with four strikeouts, Aaron Judge going 0 for 4, and Anthony Rizzo going 0 for 4. To be fair, during the last two nights, the Blue Jays had their best two starting pitchers on the mound, and tomorrow, Kevin Gausman will be starting for the Jays. Gausman is off to a rocky start with an 11.57 ERA, so hopefully, the Yankees can take advantage and show their high-powered offense!
The Yankees have to win on Wednesday to avoid being swept by the Blue Jays. Marcus Stroman will pitch for the Yankees tomorrow. He has looked fantastic in his first three starts this season, with a 2.12 ERA and 17 strikeouts. Let's hope the Yankee bats wake up tomorrow and give Stroman run support to propel the Yanks to a victory!
