The Yankees Lose 2-5 Against the Marlins : Read the Highlights Here!

The Yankees lost 2 to 5 against the Marlins in the last game of the series.

Marcus Stroman took the mound on Wednesday for the Yankees and sadly got rocked by the Marlins! Stroman pitched five innings, allowing four hits, four walks, and four earned runs, but was able to strike out seven batters. Stroman definitely could have pitched better than he did today, his off-speed pitches were missing the strike zone, and he got unlucky on a hanging pitch that Jake Burger took 25 feet over the centerfield fence for a three-run home run. After Stroman, the bullpen wrapped up the last four innings, allowing two hits and one earned run given up by Santana.

The Yankee bats were a bit light today as the only Yankees to get hits were the same players who have been doing well at the plate: Volpe, Rizzo, Soto, who gave the Yanks an RBI double in 8th, and Stanton, who hit a 393-foot home run in the 6th! Players such as Trevino, Judge, and Torres all went hitless and are struggling at the plate to start the year. Torres and Judge are getting a lot of walks, but when runners are in scoring position, the Yankees need to get base hits to drive in runs!

Despite the loss, the Yankees emerged victorious in the series against the Marlins. Looking ahead, they are gearing up to face the Guardians in a three-game series starting Friday in Cleveland.
