The Yanks Win 3-2 Against The Marlins Tuesday Night - Read the Highlights
The Yankees Won 3-2 against the Marlins on Tuesday night, their 10th win of the young season!
On Tuesday, Carlos Rodón pitched for the Yankees against the Marlins and delivered an impressive performance. He pitched for six innings, striking out six batters, and allowing only four hits, two walks, and no earned runs. However, in the seventh inning, he left the bases loaded with no outs, allowing the Marlins to score two runs when Hamilton came in for relief. In total, he has pitched for 15.2 innings this season and collected 13 strikeouts, resulting in an impressive ERA of 1.72 after three starts. Thankfully, Clay Holmes is starting to look like himself from 2023 as he again came in the 9th and put the first three batters away, giving the Yankees the Win!
The Yankee bats struggled to bring in base runners tonight. The Yankees had 7 hits and 7 walks, but they left 11 on base. Given those stats, the score of this game should have been at least 6 to 2! Tuesday's power came off the bat of Alex Verdugo, who hit a 370-foot home run in the 2nd inning. Later in the game, the Yankees scored off an RBI double from Giancarlo Stanton in the 5th inning and a Juan Soto RBI single in the 6th. That being said, the most impressive offensive performance came from Aaron Judge, who went 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks! Judge is an on-base machine right now! In the last three games, he has had 5 walks and only one strikeout. While he has yet to get a high number of hits or home runs this year, it's a massive sign that he has an on-base percentage above .380.
After this victory, the Yankees have won the first four series this season. After they play their last game against the Marlins on Wednesday, the Yankees fly out to Cleveland for a three-game series starting Friday.
