The 2017 Season Still Haunts ME!

Let's talk about 2017 because I'm still not over the worst ending to a season the Yankees have had since I've been alive. If it wasn't for Eugène Poubelle, a French citizen who invented the trashcan in 1884, I believe the 2017 World Series Champions would be the New York Yankees!

To remind everyone what happened, the Yankees lost to the cheating, scummy, terrible, garbage Houston Astros in game 6 of the ALCS. The Astros used live video feeds of Yankee pitchers to tip the pitches to their batters using a BANG of a trashcan. Batting in the MLB is complicated because you face premier pitchers who can throw several pitches that have wildly different movements every single pitch. However, if you wait for an illegal signal and know a fastball is coming, any major league hitter would be able to get a hit. With the knowledge of this information, the Houston Astros should never be recognized as the World Series Champions of 2017.

Naturally, anybody in LA would argue that the Dodgers would be the right champions of 2017 since the Dodgers won the National League and lost to the Astros in the World Series. HOWEVER, without a smidge of doubt, the Yankees would have crushed the Dodgers in the World Series even faster than the Astros did. Why do I believe this????? The Yankees were significantly better statistically than the Dodgers in 2017. Let me lay out the stats for you!

Yankees Batting Average - .262

Dodgers Batting Average: - .249

Yankees OBP % - .339

Dodgers OBP % - .334

Yankees HR - 241

Dodgers HR - 221

Yankees Hits - 1,463

Dodgers Hits - 1,347

THE YANKEES WERE THE BETTER TEAM!!!!!!!

Sadly, the great Yankee team of 2017 is just a distant memory stacked with former Yankees like Didi Gregorius, Starlin Castro, Gary Sanchez (in his prime), CC Sabathia, Masahiro Tanaka, and Jordan Montgomery. I'm hoping with the star-studded lineup in 2024, the Yankees will bring another World Series home to the Bronx and help me forget 2017.....
