The Yankees Lose 0-2 Against the Athletics on Monday :(

Monday's game against the A's was a wild defensive battle. Aaron Boone was ejected from the game in the first 15 minutes, and the Yankees lost 0-2.

Carlos Rodón had an incredible performance, pitching 7.0 scoreless innings, striking out four batters, and only allowed one hit and two walks. However, the game was tied 0-0 going into the 9th inning, and Victor Gonzalez, who had been almost perfect for the Yankees before Monday, came into the game and unfortunately blew it. Gonzalez gave up two hits and two earned runs, which resulted in the A's winning the game off a two-run home run. I can't be too mad at Gonzalez, as he had been pitching well before Monday, but it is still disappointing.

It's not fair to solely blame one player for the loss, as the entire Yankees' offense was non-existent. They only managed to get three hits and two walks and were struck out eleven times! Only Volpe, Stanton, and Trevino got hits on Monday. The Yankees have been struggling for the past week with games where they don't show any life at the plate.

The New York Yankees still have three games remaining in the series against the Oakland Athletics. The Yankees must get back on a winning streak if they want to reclaim the top spot in the American League East division. The Baltimore Orioles have been performing exceptionally well lately, and with the recent loss of the Yankees, they have taken the lead in the division. The Boston Red Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays are just a few games behind, so the Yankees must win to stay competitive. Missing the playoffs again this year would be a huge disappointment.
