Who do the Yankees play to start the season??? Let’s look at the schedule!
WE ARE LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY FROM OPENING DAY, and today, we look ahead at the regular season schedule to see who the Yankees will play to start the season and what to expect.
When March 28th hits, and it's opening day, sadly, it will not be in the Bronx. That said, I cannot think of a better place for the Yankees to storm into and beat the living S@#T out of the Houston "Trash Can" Astros. I want to see Nestor Cortez, who is filling in for Cole, pitch a phenomenal game and watch Judge, Soto, Stanton, and Rizzo hit home runs to sweep the Astros in four games to start the season strong. After the Yankees go 4-0, the Bronx Bombers fly to Arizona to take on the 2023 NL Champions, the Arizona Diamondbacks. I'm not that worried about Arizona. Truthfully, I think last year was a fluke for them. They have a solid mid-tier roster, but it's not a premier team with top-pitching and dominant hitters.
After the first two series, the Yankees finally travel home and arrive in the Bronx to take on the Blue Jays. I cannot wait until the Yankee faithful will call out all the starters names in the first curtain call of the year! With the offseason acquisitions that the Yankees made, I know the first game against the Blue Jays will be electric and filled with excitement. I expect the Yankees to play premier baseball to match the energy that will be in the stadium that day. I'm now predicting that Juan Soto will hit a bomb of a home run wearing pinstripes in his first game at Yankee Stadium. The Blue Jays have a solidly strong roster with Guerrero Jr, Bichette, Springer, and Turner, but the Yankees will be too powerful at home for Toronto to keep up with the Yankee's high-powered offense.
I like the Yankee's opening schedule, and I think it will give them a solid start to the season. We still have to wait about six days until the first game, but I sure can't wait!!
