The Yankees hold on to win 5-4 against the Rays and win the series!

The Yankees showcased their small ball strategy, which led to an electrifying offense and five runs on Sunday. This was a result of nine hits and five walks. The standout performer was Alex Verdugo, who went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Other notable contributors were Rizzo, Trevino, and Cabrera, who all secured RBIs from singles. However, the concern remains with Aaron Judge, the only Yankee batter in the lineup who is still not hitting above .200. He went 1 for 4 today and currently has a .183 batting average. Despite this, I'm optimistic that Judge will find his form soon.

Luis Gil pitched for the Yankees on Sunday and delivered an incredible performance. He pitched 5.2 innings, collected nine strikeouts, and only allowed two hits, three walks, and no earned runs. Gil has been a standout replacement in the rotation while Cole is injured, and his recent performances make a strong case for a permanent rotation spot. Luke Weaver also played a crucial role, not allowing any hits in his 1.1 innings. Unfortunately, Dennis Santana's 1.0 innings saw the Rays cut the Yankee's lead down to one with three earned runs. However, Victor Gonzalez's 9th inning heroics closed the game, securing the Yankees a 5-4 win!

The Yankees now take on the Oakland (Soon to be the Las Vegas) Athletics in a four-game set in the Bronx! Let's hope for another series win!
