The Yankees Lose 1 to 3 Against the Blue Jays : Read the Highlights :(

The Yankees looked deader than disco on Monday night in Toronto as the Yankees lost 1-3 against the Blue Jays.

Luis Gil took the mound for the Yankees on Monday night in Toronto and, unfortunately, looked much worse than in his previous start. Gil started the game by walking five batters in the first two innings, allowing two runs in the second. He couldn't hit the strike zone if it were two feet away! In total, Gil pitched five innings, allowing three hits, seven walks, and three earned runs. Seeing him struggle on the mound after a fantastic first start for the Yankees was an absolute bummer. Marinaccio and Santana came on strong in relief and pitched the last three innings, only allowing one hit.

The offense was flat on Monday, as the Yankees only had four hits and two walks. The only run came from Oswaldo Cabrera's RBI single in the second inning. And since there is no other good news to share, I might as well write about Trent Grisham's continued disappointment! Trent Grisham has now had 10 plate appearances where he has had zero hits and two walks. The first time he walked earlier in the season, he got picked off at first base, and after his walk this game, he got caught stealing second! HE STINKS! I don't understand why the Yankees added him into the Juan Soto trade, and I really think he should be in AAA Scranton right now! If Judge wants to take a day off from the outfield and put Stanton in the field, he is more than capable of making catches and jogging a little bit in the field.

There is nothing else to say, but it was a disappointing game all around for the Yankees. The Yankees need to win on Tuesday and Wednesday to keep the series winning streak alive, but I don't see that happening after this performance.
