The Yankees Lose to the Brewers 6-7 in extra innings…. Read the Recap

The Yankees emptied their entire bench and bullpen on Friday night in Milwaukee, but lost 6-7 to the Brewers in the 11th inning.

The Yankees offense had a productive game on Friday, scoring six runs with only six hits. The credit goes primarily to Trent Grisham, who hit a three-run home run in the 4th inning, marking his first hit of the season. Earlier in the game, Juan Soto hit a 398-foot home run in the 1st inning, while Alex Verdugo followed up with a 384-foot home run in the 2nd inning. Giancarlo Stanton was a key player for the Yankees, hitting an RBI double in the 10th inning while pinch-hitting for Grisham, which gave the Yankees a 6-5 lead going into the bottom of the 10th. Which unfortunately did not last........

Luis Gil had an off night on Friday when he took the mound for the Yankees against Milwaukee, marking his first bad start of the season. Gil allowed six hits and five earned runs in 5.0 innings. After Gil pitched the first five innings, Marinaccio, Santana, Ferguson, and Holmes came on to pitch the next four innings and looked great. They combined for only one hit and one walk while the game was tied at 5-5. However, Michael Tonkin, who the Yankees signed on Thursday, blew the lead for the Yanks in his first appearance in the 10th inning, then came back in the 11th inning to give up another run and lose the game. Not a great first impression Tonkin!

The Yankees and the Brewers have two more games in this series, and let's hope the Yankees bounce back this weekend!
