The Yanks Dominate the Astros and Win 7-1 Friday : Read the Highlights

The Yankees pulled off a fantastic 7-1 victory over the Houston Astros Friday evening, as the Yankees were led by the bat of Oswaldo Cabrera!

Cabrera is without a doubt the MVP of the night as he went 4 for 5 at the plate with 3 RBIs in critical moments of the game. Along with Cabrera, the Yankee's new shiny star, Juan Soto, was swinging the bat well as he went 3 for 4 with one RBI, and I can't write about hitting without highlighting Giancarlo Stanton, who went deep on a 419-foot home run in the 9th inning. Unfortunately, in the 7th inning, Gleyber Torres got hit with a fastball straight in the hand that looked like it made direct contact with the thumb. He stayed in the game for half an inning, then got pulled out. We will await the news, but hopefully, it's nothing serious. Offensively, the Yankees looked great as the team combined for 11 hits tonight, and the majority of the lineup got at least one hit.

The Yankees had Carlos Rodón start the game on the mound, and he put up an "OKish" performance. Rodón pitched 4.1 innings and allowed one earned run, five hits, and three walks. His control was not dialed in, as he threw his pitches all over the strike zone and constantly down in the dirt. He had base runners every inning, so it was very worrying to watch, but thankfully, he only gave up one run in the first inning. After Rodón, the Yankees sent out five relievers, who all pitched great and collectively allowed only two hits the rest of the game.

The Yankees and the Astros play two more games this series, and tomorrow, Yankee fans will get the first look at Marcus Stroman. There is bound to be some great baseball this weekend!
